Shannon – Office Manager
Shannon is originally from Georgia and has over 24 year experience in a dental office. After graduating dental hygiene program from Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, Shannon practice dental hygiene in the Atlanta area for 9 years before moving to Charleston in 2006. Shannon also has practiced as a dental assistant for 6 years prior to entering the dental hygiene program with one of Georgia’s premier Periodontists. Shannon joined East Cooper Dental in 2006 and loves caring for her patients and takes pride in educating patients on all aspects of oral health care. In March 2013 Shannon moved from our full time hygienist to taking over duties of office manager.
Shannon and her husband of 14 years, Brian, enjoy time with their golden retriever, college football, and all things culinary. Dinning, cooking and learning all about wine and food are the things Shannon and her husband love most about Charleston, South Carolina and feels that Charleston is one of the best cities for foodies!
Lane
Lane is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and East Tennessee State University. She moved to Charleston in the summer of 2014 and loves the beach life. Lane feels strongly about helping others achieve optimal oral hygiene.
“The health of your mouth is connected to the health of your entire body. It is important to me that my patients understand proper oral care techniques.”
She loves teaching her patients the proper skills necessary to achieve and maintain a healthy smile. After all, “A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear.”
Anna
Anna has been a Dental Assistant since 2005. She attended North Georgia College and State University. She is trained in sedation dentistry, implants, pinhole procedure, general, and cosmetic.
Anna was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2008, and took part in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. For her service she was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
Anna is from Hartwell GA and moved to Mt Pleasant in 2010 and joined our team. She is married to Josh and they have one daughter Maria. She is a member of Seacoast Church and participates in the Thorn. She enjoys sewing, bible studies, and spending time with family and friends.
Heather
Having a heart for people and their health is what makes Heather a great hygienist. As a former fitness professional, Heather believes in whole-body wellness that starts from the inside out. That, of course, starts with healthy teeth and gums! She adds,
“I have the privilege of helping patients improve the health and beauty of their smiles every day.”
Heather is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly – keeping each patient well informed and making them feel right at home during their visit. Heather graduated in 1994 from Trident Technical College with an Associate of Health Science in Dental Hygiene and has been in Charleston ever since.
Outside the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and their blended family of four kids.
Kelly
Kelly is a born and raised Charleston girl and wouldn’t have it any other way. After graduating from Trident Technical College with an Associate of Health Sciences in Dental Hygiene, she went on to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Health Professions. She has been a practicing Dental Hygienist for 18 years with cross-training in dental assisting and office management. In addition to her time in private practices, she has spent time as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Trident Dental Hygiene Clinic. Working with the senior classes of the Hygiene Program, she ensured the next generations were prepared for the workforce. Patients can sense her teacher’s heart and love of the profession when it comes to dental health and achieving one’s best smile.
Kelly’s family includes her husband Joseph of 21 years, their son at Wofford College and two sweet pups. When not at the office, Kelly and Joseph enjoy cooking, biking, long distance hikes and just spending time together.
